Living in Dubai for over a year now, I've noticed how almost everything seems to be fast-paced here. People also seem to be too preoccupied with work. New structures, new attractions, and innovations seem to sprout day by day, all in an instant. Even weekends seem to just go by in a snap and I would always have that where-did-the-weekend-go-conversations with myself in my head.
I must admit that I miss having weekends at home, my HOME. I miss having laid back weekends with my family, if not having weekend getaways with Mark. Weekends where I could just sit back, be lazy, relax, eat and enjoy life's beauty. But of course, I know that I cannot always have that here anymore, because we have our priorities now. And just planning about a getaway is already a struggle mainly because of the lack of time. Going beyond the city is also not really an option for us. So when an invitation for a weekend escape at Burjuman Arjaan came my way, I gladly accepted it with open arms.
BurJuman Arjaan by Rotana is one of Rotana's luxurious properties in Dubai. It is situated at the heart of Dubai amid the city's exclusive areas and attractions, just in front of BurJuman metro station with easy access via BurJuman Mall. It is part of a multi-functional complex that includes an office tower, luxurious boutiques, and posh restaurants and cafés within the BurJuman Centre. Also a few blocks from where we actually live, BurJuman Arjaan by Rotana is definitely a nice destination for a weekend escape without having to go beyond the city. We felt like as if we were in a different place, far from Dubai's busy city life.
We were greeted courteously by the staff when we arrived at the hotel. Check-in was a breeze. We just had to sign some documents and then we were already on our way to our suite in no time.
One-Bedroom Premium Suite
Our premium suite was nothing short of luxurious. A toilet is situated just right after the main door, perfect for when you urgently need it, following a corridor which leads to the spacious room.
I love the whole setup of our suite. It really felt like home. It has different sections--kitchenette, dining area, living room, bedroom, and bathroom--which are all well-equipped to ensure a relaxing and comfortable stay. Perfect especially for families staying for a long time.
I fell in love with the fully-functional kitchenette, with stoves, oven, mini fridge, individual freezer, crockery and cutlery. I was telling Mark that we should have bought some groceries so I can cook. I can stay here and cook all day! I love to cook and I thought it would be perfect for some simple gatherings where I can cook good food and share it with family and friends.
Complimentary tea and coffee making facility was provided and there were also some candies, chocolates, nuts, and drinks in the mini bar with corresponding fees. They even have washing machine and dryer, plus some detergents.
The living room was my favorite part of the suite. Complete with an ample sitting room with comfortable couches and sofa, a multi-channel satellite television, and DVD player, this was where we spent most of time during our stay. Mark specifically loved the lounge cushion chair.
Another favorite part was the large balcony surrounding the living room, which stretches up to the bedroom, where you can indulge in the stunning city view of Dubai.
The highly luxurious bedroom is complete with king size bed, a multi-channel satellite television, personal in-room safe, telephone lines and high speed internet (wired and wireless).
I can still feel how the super comfy bed with soft duvet and pillows hugged my body. It was like a magnet keeping me snuggled down. :D
The clean and spacious bathroom also had the basic toiletries, towels, and bath robes.
Recreation
Aside from a relaxing stay, Burjuman Arjaan also offers recreation for guests to enjoy. They have a gymnasium which provides guests unlimited access to latest cardio and weight training equipment in a relaxed ambiance. Towel service, refreshments, and DVD rentals are also available.
I was meaning to hit the gym but we already got tired as we made some laps at their outdoor pool. The outdoor swimming pool is temperature controlled so having a dip during the winter is no problem at all.
The pool is also child-friendly and I enjoyed the waters as Mark shared with me his swimming skills. :p A lifeguard is also on duty to assist you and towels are provided for guests.
Dining
The hotel offers 24 hours in-room dining service with a wide selection of sumptuous dishes from the international cuisine.
Complimentary breakfast for two at The Gallery was included in our stay. The all-day dining restaurant offers the world's most famous flavours from Asia, Europe and the Middle East. More details about our dining experiencein my next post HERE. :)
Highly-commendable Customer Service
The excellent facilities were coupled with a highly-commendable customer service from the hotel staff which we immediately experienced the moment we got to the hotel. Rei, the Duty Manager, was very accommodating and wished us an enjoyable stay. A little after we got into our room, complimentary fruits and nuts were served to us by Von on behalf of the hotel's general manager.
Smiles and greetings also never failed to come our way whenever we meet a staff in the hotel's vicinity. Even the lifeguard was very eager to share his stories with Mark. Same hospitality was also showered on us during our breakfast at The Gallery.
Saying that we enjoyed our weekend at Burjuman Arjaan is an understatement. We felt pampered and well-taken care of even just for a short time. Our experience was nothing short of amusing, relaxing, luxurious, and fun. Burjuman Arjaan definitely reminded us of how it feels like to be home. :)
