Ramen Night at Umami

It gets really cold at night in Dubai during winter. It is also during this time when my hot soup cravings are at its peak!

It was a cold weekday night and I'm still at work when I suddenly craved something hot. I initially thought of having wonton noodles, but later on had a huge craving for ramen on my way home. I immediately bugged Mark about my cravings, so he went ahead to Burjuman Centre and found Umami.

Japanese Food Fix at Sushi Express Cafe

Just like almost every corner in Dubai, with restaurants sprawling the vicinity, Jumeirah Lake Towers is also becoming a haven for foodies. JLT is not somewhere which Mark and I would usually choose to go, especially if we're looking for a place to dine, as there are already a number of restaurants near our home. And admittedly, we only get to visit JLT during invites for food reviews. :p

Asian Food Fix at Market 24

Have you ever dined in a restaurant where you had nothing but praises for every dish that you ordered? Seems impossible, right? I myself had been to a number of restaurants both here in Dubai and back home, but never had a single experience where everything that I got was superb. There will be dishes that will stand out but there will always be a dish or two that won't meet my expectations. But that definitely wasn't the case with our dining experience at Market 24!

Birthday Lunch at Bentoya Kitchen

Mark did a sweet gesture on my birthday. He woke me up at exactly 12 midnight and we both welcomed my birthday with these two cakes. :D

Bubbles, Bites & Beats at Katana

Saying that Mark is a sushi lover is a total understatement. He loves adores sushi more than he loves me. Haha! Kidding aside, I already expected how Mark would be enticed of the thought of a sushi date night, so I immediately confirmed when I got an invite from Katana.

Moshi: Momo & Sushi

I first knew about Moshi when it first opened its doors in Al Barsha 1 last year, as it gained attention fairly quickly among the Dubai foodies that I follow online. I was meaning to check the place out but it was far from where I live, so imagine my delight when just this year, they recently opened a new branch in Oud Metha, which is just a few minutes away from my place.

Modern Japanese Cuisine at 5th Taste

Hi dear readers! I'm Gia, contributor of Sweet Nothings. :D Together with Jeffrey Perida, photographer, we were sent by Kriska, my sister and the owner of this blog, to cover the food tasting event in 5th Taste Restaurant last Saturday, July 25.

Hi, I'm Gia! :D

5th Taste is a Japanese fusion restaurant in the Philippines which offers modern Japanese dishes with a twist. As avid fans of Japanese dishes, Jeff and I were very excited for the event and can no longer wait to taste the dishes as we were intrigued with the terms “modern” and “twist” which came with the invitation that was sent to us. We were also thinking what the edge of this restaurant could be from all other Japanese restaurants.
