Whenever I think of authentic Emirati dishes, one restaurant always comes to mind. Logma!
They launched their new menu during Ramadan, so we technically came here for Iftar. Logma was the only Iftar invite that didn't clash with my crazy schedule, and my first dining experience here already left me with quite a number of favorites, so I knew I shouldn't really miss this one! :p
We started off with the drinks. Passion of Arabia, a mixture of passion fruit and pineapple, is what Mark got. This was what I got when we first dined here and I can vouch for its yumminess. I got Vimto Frappe this time, since it's Ramadan. If I got it right, Vimto seems to be a popular drink for Iftars because of the high sugar level and the strong flavour works as a welcome energy boost after a day of no food or drink.
Both drinks are refreshing and I love that they came in milk bottles, but they're a total rip off considering the serving size.
For starters we had Chicken Samboosa and Chicken Saffron Salad. I fell in love with their Cheese Samboosa and was supposed to order it again this time, but I saw Chicken Samboosa as part of the new menu so I opted for that instead.
I instantly had a change of heart on my first bite. I guess the selling point for me is that it's not spicy, unlike the cheese variant, so I'm loving this more! Hot, crispy, and filled with generous herbed chicken with cheddar, pepper, and basil sun-dried pesto; it was so good I had to fight the urge to order a second serving! I also love how the wrapper was just thin and doesn't overpower the flavorful filling.
I'm not also sure if it was just me, or was it just because we had Logma fries before, but I just noticed that the serving was kinda small. Or was it just so good that I find the 4 pieces per serving hard to share? :p
The Chicken Saffron Salad was recommended by the server as it's one of their best sellers. It was okay, but I just found it too citrusy. I'm also used to having chicken warm, so them being cold in salads is just not my cup of tea. Had I also known that it's not part of the new menu, I should have just went for my favorite from their salads which is the Rocca Salad.
I'm a sucker for parathas that I nearly squealed when I turned the pages of the menu and saw "New Logma Parathas". The choices were all inviting, it took me a while to finally decide to get Cheesy Chicken Logma Paratha. And I was sure glad I chose it!
Logma's take on this local favorite deviated from the usual stuffed bread or rolls. They served it like tacos. Chicken chunks marinated with cheese, cabbage sauce, carrots with apple vinegar, crispy onions stings, and mint are enveloped in a flaky paratha with all that crisp crust and chewy core. Definitely one of a kind.
The filling tasted very much like that of the Chicken Samboosa, so I definitely fell in love with this one too.
Mark went ahead and chose Logma Lamb Biryani, another addition to the menu. Served in a traditional silver/copper ware, the aroma of biryani filled the air when the paratha cover was removed.
Arabic biryani is usually on the sweeter side with milder spices, which is favorable for me. That distinct biryani taste was there which was perfect with the soft marinated lamb chunks. Layers of textures were present in this simple yet delectable dish, which was brought about by the nuts, dried dates and grapes, and crispy onion strings. Drenching it with raita sauce, Mark just can't help but wipe the bowl clean!
Lotus Karak Cake was what we eyed for dessert, but it was unfortunately not available that time. I guess it was just one stroke of luck since I was very much craving for their fondant too! :D So yeah, we got the Rahash Fondant instead. This is still the best chocolate fondant that I've tried!
I won't let you drool for now, but if in case you still want to or you still haven't checked how good the fondant is, go check out the videos below. But I tell you, this might cause excessive drooling! You have been warned! :p
Lugaimat is a traditional Emirati dessert; a sweet dumpling (similar to fried donut holes) drizzled with date syrup. First time to try it at Logma and I loved it! I got the Milk Chocolate Lugaimat which is topped with heaps of melted milk chocolate and biscuit crumbs. Yum! Perfect with hot Karak tea!
Just like before, Mark and I had a delightful dining experience. The food, service, and ambience which made us love Logma on our first time were all still evident and even more improved this time. Though there were some misses, I'd still go back to Logma for my favorites! I heard they also offer nice breakfast choices and I can't wait to try them too! :D

We were invited by Logma and our meal was complimentary, but as always, this post is sincerely written and all opinions are my own.
