Congratulations Jaoey!

Last Monday, my mom, dad, and I attended Jaoey's recognition day. Jaoey already had an early blow out last Sunday when we had lunch at Max's. He also got to buy some Pokemon cartridge for his Gameboy Advance as his prize.

The Cavs Annihilated The Pistons

The Cleveland Cavaliers tore down the visiting Detroit Pistons yesterday in a blow out game 104-79. The Cavs swept the Pistons in their four game season series for the first time in 30 years. The win over the Pistons gave the Cavs its seven straight win in a row.

Leon Powe led the Cavs by scoring a team-high 16 points, grabbing a game-high 10 rebounds. Lebron James added 15 points who sat the entire fourth quarter, watching teammate Leon Powe in astonishment and impressed on how his teammate is playing.

"He adds an intimidation factor to our team," James said. "He's very comfortable out there in getting to the line, and that's a good trait to have."

Four other Cavs notched a double digit points in the game. J.J. Hickson scored 13 points and grabbed eight boards, Mo Williams added 12 points, Anthony Parker finished with 11, and Delonte West scored 15 points off the bench.

Detroit Pistons’ main guys Tayshaun Prince and Richard Hamilton struggled in most of the game, scoring a total of only 5 of 19 shooting from the field, even with both of their points combined. Jason Maxiell led the Pistons with 16 points and Charlie Villanueva added 11 points. They are the only two players in the team who got double-figures.

Max's

After hearing mass, we headed to SM Taytay to have our phone lines renewed. We also strolled around the mall and bought Jaoey some presents since he topped his class.

Lunch time came and I was really craving for Savory Chicken, but since there's none in the mall, we just settled for Max's.

Our order includes the soup of the day, Lumpiang Shanghai, Max’s fried chicken, Chopsuey, Pancit Canton, rice, and caramel bars.

First to arrive was the soup. The cream of chicken soup with chicken fillet, mushroom, carrot bits, and egg was a good treat for our empty tummies.

I wasn't really a fan of Max's Lumpiang Shanghai, but I found myself munching into this delectable dish. The lumpia was not oily and the tender pork filling was made more luscious with the sweet and sour dip.

The Chopseuy was also good, though I love my dad's chopseuy more. Haha!

I didn't eat the pancit, but I think it also tasted good since Jaoey was enjoying eating it. :P

And the star of the meal, Max's fried chicken! I just love how not oily and salty the chicken was. It was crispy on the outside yet tender and juicy on the inside. You can enjoy eating the chicken plain fried or you may choose to make it more delectable by dipping it into a mixture of catsup and worchestershire sauce. :D

We all enjoyed the food. Indeed a satisfying treat to all who craves for the best of Max’s.

Argh! I really need to stop pigging out and just get back to strict diet! Haha!

Yet Another Tasty Treat!

I have been trying to observe a strict diet because I wanted to get back into shape, since I gained a lot of weight after our Boracay trip. I've been avoiding eating rice and I'm also taking it easy when it comes to fatty food and sweets. Fresh fruits and vegetables have also become my friends. I also got back into running and doing aerobics with my mom on Saturdays, and working out with Mark whenever there's free time.

I've been doing pretty fine with my diet and work outs (or so I think?! haha!), but with a dad who cooks dishes even tastier than the ones you can find in restaurants, how can I get back to into shape? Haha!

Just like last Saturday, when my dad cooked dinner for us. Aside from his home-made sisig (which I ♥♥♥!!!) , he also cooked this:

So tell me, how can I resist this mouth-watering dish?! *drools*

LeBron James Re-writes History in NBA

Lebron James became the youngest player to score 15,000 points as they defeated the Chicago Bulls in their home court 92-85 in their game yesterday. Lebron James accomplished the record at 25 years, 79 days, and did it in his 540th game, breaking Kobe Bryant’s record of 27 years, 136 days, and 657th game in the NBA.

James led the Cavs in the fourth quarter by scoring 13 point in the last seven minutes of the game. James scored 29 points in the game to further advance his total career points to 15,026. The reigning MVP also grabbed 11 rebounds, dish out seven assists, two steals and two heart stopping block.

Mo Williams helped the Cavs by scoring 18 points and shooting 60% from the field, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc and was perfect in three attempts from the foul shot.

The Legendary Bulls of the past played without injured starters Joakim Noah, Luol Deng, and Derrick Rose. Taj Gibson led the Bulls with 20 points and 13 rebounds and James Johnson had a tremendous game off the bench as he scored 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

President Tea House

Watched the Pacquiao-Clottey fight last Sunday at SM North Edsa with Mark and his mom. The not-so-exciting fight ended past lunch which got us all hungry.

I believe Mark was craving for Chinese food that time so we headed to President Tea House.

Mark ordered the Asado Pao for appetizer, which his mom immediately ate even before I could get a shot of it. :P

Mark and I both loved North Park's Boneless Honey Lemon Chicken and so we decided to try out President Tea House's version. Plus it was indicated in the menu that it's one of their specialties.

The Lemon Chicken was a lot different from any other lemon chicken dishes that I've tried. The chicken fillet strips were served plain fried and the dish just comes with a small bowl of lemon sauce. The chicken itself was bland and the sauce didn't really make any difference at all. Though the serving was generous, it was still a big disappointment for Mark and I.

Mark's mom was craving for shrimp so she ordered the Buttered Garlic Shrimp.  This was one good, it's just that the shrimps were somewhat overcooked because the shell was sticking to the meat and it was hard to take it off from the shrimp.

Another dish was the Fish Fillet in Thailand Sauce. I was hesitant in trying out this one because, first, I don't any idea of what the Thailand sauce (and well Thai cuisine in general) tastes like, and next, I just got frustrated with the first two dishes that we had and don't want to add some more. But this turned out to be the best tasting from all our orders. The generous serving of tender fish fillet goes well with the tangy Thailand sauce. Definitely a must-try! :)

And who would forget the Yang Chow Fried Rice and Pork Siomai? These two will never be out of the list when it comes to Chinese cuisine. And it's guaranteed that you'll never go wrong with these dishes. :D

For the drinks, Mark got the Fresh Buko Juice...

...while I got the Buko Lychee Shake.

We were all done eating when I noticed the Mango Banana Shake which comes with a cute teddy bear. I really didn't want it since I was already full plus there were only blue, beige, and brown teddies in their display haha!

But just as when Mark's mom was about to pay the bill, she ordered the shake and specified that I want a pink bear. And I was surprised when the waiting staff obliged. They do really have a pink bear haha!

We just had to take the shake home because were all really full. Thanks for the treat Tita Juliet! ^_^
