Jestine's Artworks

It may be unknown to all, but I really love drawing and sketching ever since I was a kid. I remember being able to draw in MS Paint even before stylus pens were ever created.

I also dream of becoming a world class painter. I have a few painting projects when I was a kid, which unfortunately I wasn't able to continue working on as time went by.

But nevertheless, my love for art didn't really go away. I end up doing some doodles and sketches whenever I get bored. And up to now, I always get fascinated whenever I see paintings. And this also holds true every time I see my cousin's works of art. :)

My cousin, Jestine, a Fine Arts student, really has a passion for art.

The Artist: Jestine John

Whenever he joins painting competitions, his works surely get the recognition. And most of the time, his winning pieces would always end up in the judges' hands. He's that good that his artworks are always being asked for by the judges and some teachers.

He may still be a neophyte artist, but his works are just superb! These are just a few of my cousin's creations which I soooooo LOVE! :)

This next one's my most favorite! :)

And another favorite, this one's the newest addition to Jestine's masterpieces, which now found its place on the wall in Mark's house. :)

Melting Mark :p

Good job Jestine!!! Keep it up!!!

Savory Saturday Lunch with Mark

Fridays will never be the same as before. There will be no more Friday movie and coffee nights with Mark. :( But oh well, we still have Saturdays! :)

Mark and I met up yesterday and had our lunch at the Savory Chicken in Ali Mall. I've already tried Savory Chicken before but it's my second time at the Ali Mall branch and I believe it's Mark's first. :)

I ordered my favorite Savory Tropical Cooler for the drinks and Mark also opted to give it a try. It's a blend of luscious pineapple, orange, and guava fruit juices. Mark loved it as much as I did. :)

Savory Tropical Cooler - Php 45

Salt and Pepper Spareribs was Mark's choice. The deep-fried pork spareribs seasoned with salt and pepper was perfect for both Mark and I. I loved that the dish was not too oily. The red chili and green bell pepper slices made me scared at first since I'm not a fan of hot and spicy dishes, but I'm glad that the dish was spiced just right. You may also dip it in spiced vinegar for an additional tangy and spicy kick.

Revisiting the Summer Capital: Philippine Military Academy

Date of visit: May 9, 2010

We went straight to the Philippine Military Academy after our boat ride at Burnham Park.

As we entered the camp, we saw air crafts which were used by the Philippine Airforce.

<
These all got Mark, Chino, Jeff, and Gia a little excited that they immediately posed to have their photos taken with the aircrafts.

We also saw a lot of interesting things as we roamed around the camp.

Tree House

The buildings got Mark's attention that he immediately took photos of them...

...while I was allured by the sight of the beautiful flowers all over the camp. :)

As we walked along, we were able to catch some cadets and had our pictures with them. It's only in televisions and movies that I knew how it is being in military.

I sometimes wonder how they feel because it seems that they should always be well-dressed and look good, firm, and fearless. They also seem to be always so serious and weren't allowed to laugh or even smile at all. :p

We actually tried having the cadets do some wacky poses but they said they where not allowed and that they should always maintain their dignity..hehe..

We were also able to witness some neophyte cadets as they took on their training.

We even saw some lady cadets. Cool! I really admire how disciplined they all were.

Visitors were allowed to watch the drills and trainings as long as they don't go beyond the designated areas.

But Mark got too excited to have some close encounter with the cadets that he didn't mind crossing the perimeters!

We all enjoyed our tour around the PMA camp especially at the Relics Point.

Aside from seeing a lot of interesting things, Jaoey, Mark, Chino, Gia, and Jeff aslo had their share of craziness around the camp haha!
