Saturday Merienda at Pizza Hut

After my checkup yesterday, we went to a guitar store in Sta. Mesa and bought Jaoey his early birthday gift.

We then went to Tom's World and World of Fun in SM Centerpoint and played the arcade cranes.

We all got hungry and decided to have merienda at Pizza Hut. Jaoey immediately grabbed the menu and ordered a personal 3 Cheese Pan Pizza. He started munching on it after I was able to take a photo of it.

I've been wanting to try the Mozzarella Sticks since I read a lot of good reviews about it and the photo in the menu was really tempting, so I got one order of it. I was actually thinking of getting two orders since the sticks seem small and thin, but I was also hesitant since none of us has really tried it before. I drooled the moment the mozzarella sticks were served, they were actually a lot bigger than I thought. I fell in love with it at my first bite! The marinara dip also made the dish more delectable. *drools*

Gia, Jeff, and I all wanted pizza and pasta so we all agreed to just order the Family Feast. For Php 749, a group of 4 can enjoy one Supreme Family Pan Pizza, Fettuccine a la King, Spaghetti with Meatballs, Ceasar Salad, and 4 glasses of soda.

Ceasar Salad was served first. We were all hungry that the salad plate was empty in no time.

Caesar Salad

It's been a long time since we had pan pizza from Pizza Hut. The pizza was good and I was already full just with one slice, but I still prefer thin crust pizzas. :)

The Fettuccine a la King was a hit for all of us. The generous amount of ham and chicken sautéed in a light cream sauce were perfect for our taste. The dish was not too salty and I believe what made it more delectable were the bell peppers.

Fettuccine a la King

Since the pasta serving was generous, the 3 of us just shared on the fettuccine. We were already full so we just had the spaghetti wrapped.

Jeff and Gia and the drinks :p

Gia wanted to have dessert so she ordered the Dip-licious. It's a a platter of fresh banana, mangoes, and marshmallows served with a rich chocolate dip. We ordered it ahead and just had it served when we were halfway through our merienda, but it took us a couple of follow-ups before it was served.

Dip-licious - Php 99

The food was fine, yes, but I was not impressed with the service. Their waiting staffs were all inattentive and were all hooked up with the car show by the window. -_-

Load Up On Proteins...

...that's what the boyfriend told me when I got to talk to him last Friday. :) He said that a veggies-and-fruits diet is ok but a balanced diet is what's always the best. He also added that loading up on proteins will help build muscles which in turn help the body burn fats more easily. Plus proteins also make the skin and hair glow and look healthier. Cool! :p

My dad must have sensed what my 'dietitian' advised, so last Saturday, aside from another round of his sautéed veggies,

Sautéed Tomatoes, Zucchinis, Eggplants, Baguio beans, Carrots, and Onions
in Olive Oil and Oyster Sauce

he also prepared not one but three protein dishes. :p First is the Chicken Afritada, a classic chicken stew with bell pepper and potatoes in tomato sauce, which my dad does uniquely by adding in chicken liver.

Chicken Afritada

This next one's what I missed a lot! It's been years I believe since I last tasted this dish. It's cooked just like how you would cook a Chicken Tinola (minus the papaya or sayote), with clams as the main ingredient of course, plus tomatoes. :)

Clam Soup

And just like the old times, it still never failed to satisfy my palates.

Clam Soup

He also made this fried tilapia. I get to try this very often so I just skipped eating this. :p

Fried Tilapia

Egg whites, tuna, and oats are what the boyfriend suggested that I load up on, but he also said that any chicken, pork, fish, seafood, or beef dish would also be fine. :) And so here's what my healthy lunch plate looked like:

Mary Grace Cheese Rolls

I hate that my medicines are making me crave for sweets like crazy. :p

Unfortunately I have no choice but to resist the cravings. :p Saw these tempting cheese roll pictures in my files and I'm craving for them right now!

I was lucky enough to get to taste this yummy treat days before I was advised to cut out on my sweets intake.

Aside from the generous amount of sugar sprinkled on top of the very soft bread, what I loved most is it's cheesy core.

If you're the type who loves cheeses you'll definitely love Mary Grace's Cheese Rolls!

It actually tasted very much like Hizon's Ensaymada, but a lot cheesier because of its core which I fell in love with!

Going Vegan?

Nah! I don't think I can haha! :p Though my doctor said it would really help if I could, for now I guess I'm already fine with cutting out sweets, fats, and rice from my diet. :)

At first I thought it would be hard for me since I have a dad who cooks luscious dishes and a family who loves to eat. Good thing my mom and dad has been very supportive. :p

My mom always prepares my food for work. She would usually put in fruits, oats, and slices of wheat bread in my lunch box. She also makes sure that we never run out of cucumber because this is what I love to munch at home.

During weekends, my dad still continues to cook mouth-watering dishes for the family, but also never forgets to cook a healthy dish for me. :) Just like last Sunday, he made this veggie dish:

Sautéed Tomatoes, Zucchinis, Eggplants, Baguio beans, and Onions
in Olive Oil and Oyster Sauce

...which made me have a healthy lunch and dinner. Of course a balanced diet is what I need, so I also got my dad's pork adobo, a small piece each, for lunch and for dinner. :p

From Qatar with Love

Got this lovely gift from the boyfriend last Sunday. This was supposed to be a surprise, but I already knew of it because of his mom. Mark must have forgotten how close his mom and I are that we talk almost everyday about almost everything. :p

Swatch Menthol Tone Watch

But I must admit, I still got surprised. :p Thanks love! I love it! :) But I would have liked it even more if you gave it to me personally hahaha! I miss you so much! Come back home soon! :)

Sweet Cravings!

Was organizing my photos when I bumped into some pictures of sweets! *drool* Not only do I always crave for sweets, each sweet craving also reminds me of the people that are really close to my heart. ♥♥♥

This one reminds me of how sweet, though not verbally expressive, my mom is. :) She makes sure to get my all-time favorite sapin-sapin whenever she comes home from the market.

My dad always gets a bag of mallows for my sister as pasalubong when he and my mom do the groceries. I also become overly delighted when my dad hands the bag to Gia and instructs her to share it with us, because marshmallows are also my favorite! I'm sure my dad will now buy 2 bags of it when he reads this haha! :)

These cookies and cream muffins are the newest addition to my sweet cravings. It's my first time to try this flavor out during a lunch out with Chino. And at the first bite, I immediately loved it! It was my first time to try this flavor out and it was also my first time to go out on a lunch date with my big bro. :)

Kenny Roger's Cookies and Cream Muffins - Php 70/box of 6

Ice cream floats remind me of my baby sister Gia. She always, as in always, makes one whenever we have ice creams and Coke or root beer at home. :p I only like coke floats though. :)

Chocolates are another one of my favorite sweet cravings! It would take my baby brother Jaoey long hours just to finish his food, but it would take just a blink of an eye for him to finish a bar of chocolate! :p

Brownies from Brownies Unlimited are what Mark's mom always lets us have for pasalubong whenever we go out with her. :) I so love the wallnut swirl!!!

Brownies Unlimited pre-assorted brownies - Php 78 (box of 6)

And these last two sweets are what I've been craving for the most for the past few months...

I first got to try White Hat with Mark and I immediately fell in love with their froyos. I love my hat with mangoes, strawberries, and kiwis. :)

White Hat

Hizon's egg rolls are what used to be Mark's pasalubong for me every time we meet. I so miss him as much as I miss these egg rolls haha! :p

Egg Rolls from Hizon's Cakes and Pastries

Was supposed to clean up these pictures, but obviously, I just can't, as much as I just can't forget how lucky I am to have all these sweet people around!

So I guess I'll just have to let these pictures sit in my pc's memory. I think I'll be needing them more now that my OB advised me to cut on my sweets intake for my ovaries to be healthy again. I guess these pictures will come in handy whenever I feel some sweet cravings! :p
