Lunch Date at Mama Chit's

Since I was absent from the blogosphere for more than a month, I think I owe you guys a more decent post than the previous one, so I thought of delaying my backlogs a little bit and share with you my most recent food trip with my family. :)

After my morning routine (morning run, morning mass, and breakfast) last Monday, I decided to tag along my mom and my brothers, Chino and Jaoey, since I will be running some errands for Mark. We went to Manila to visit Mark's mom and to hand her some stuff from Mark. It was already past lunch time, but since we were all still full from our breakfast, instead of supposedly having lunch at Robinsons Manila, we decided to have it at Mama Chit's in Marikina.

It was actually our second time to check the place out. Our first time wasn't that successful though. It was a Saturday and we weren't able to dine there since the place was packed so we decided to dine elsewhere.

Hey There!

After having been missing from the blogosphere for more than a month now, here I am, finally able to write a (sorry for the not-so-decent) blog post! Haha!

I'm really sorry for not being able to update my blog for the past few weeks. Was down with Chikungunya for a couple of weeks just last month. Was bedridden most of the time because of high fever and muscle and joint pains, but thank goodness it was not Dengue, and I was able to recover from it. Also had a bad cough and fever the week after. :( I'm already feeling a lot better now, but I'm still nursing this cough up until now.

Also got busy with some orders for KC kupcakes, but the real culprit of my being MIA for more than a month was our internet provider! Our landline and internet connections got busted last August during typhoon Maring. Our connections finally got restored just this week, after millions of email and twitter complaints and follow ups. Oh I'm sure tonight will not be enough if I'll rant about how disappointed we were with our service provider. Our connections are working well now anyway and that's what's more important. :)

And now that everything's back to normal, aside from the cough that I'm still nursing, I hope I can get to update this blog more often for all of you. :)

Well I guess that's all for now. I just really want to let you guys know that, yes, I am still alive! Haha! Good night sweeties! :)

Hizon's Quezo de Bola Ensaymada

Was out earlier today to do some meetings, do some supplies shopping, and do some errands and girlfriend duties for Mark. Since my meeting ended a little before lunch time, I decided to grab some lunch and go straight to Hizon's in Manila to meet with Mark's mom.

While everybody's been raving about a variety of sweets and pastries that came out a few months back and some just recently, my sweet tooth still chose to crave for the classics.

Baby Items-themed Christening Cupcakes

Aside from orders for birthday parties, we also get orders for Christenings. Here's the first set of Christening cupcakes that we made. We thought of baby items as the main topper, then added on some fondant flowers and edible pearls. :)

Here are the other sets that we made for Baby Girl and Baby Boy Christening cupcakes.

Medical Items-themed Cupcakes

Here's our first ever set of cupcakes with handcrafted fondant toppers. :D We got an order for cupcakes that would be given as gifts to a doctor so Gia and I thought of using fondant for the cupcake toppers. We searched over the net and came up with making these medical items out of fondant.

Working with fondant for the first time was both fun and challenging at the same time. It was challenging because Gia and I are both first timers. We were hesitant at first and wondered if we're doing it right, but we were glad that we pulled it off. And it turned out to be a lot more fun! It actually brought us back to our childhood memories when we used to make some stuff out of modeling clay.

Can't Get Enough of Holdak

I fell in love with Holdak the first time I got to try it, and I guess I share the same sentiments with my sister Gia. We were both craving for their chicken for weeks already but didn't get the chance to satisfy our cravings since their branch is quite far from where we live.

Good thing we were near the area during one of our cupcake deliveries so Gia and I decided to grab some lunch at Holdak. :) It was actually my third time at Holdak, my second one was a week after the event when I got a Yang-nyam Mini Meal and a Box of 6 each of their Padak and Yang-nyam all for take out. :)
