Friday Brunch at Dusit Thani Dubai

One fine Friday afternoon, Mark and I found ourselves indulging in a festive spread yet again, this time at Dusit Thani Dubai.

We arrived at the hotel a little past noon and were welcomed by the Thai musicians playing traditional Thai instruments, serenading us with a soothing music that filled the air.

Romantic Escape at Nour Arjaan by Rotana in Fujairah

When I first got to the UAE a little over a year ago, it has been my goal since then to explore all its seven emirates. And although I've already been to Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah, apart from Dubai, I know that I'm not even a quarter of a halfway there since there are still a lot for me to explore. It is also still a work in progress considering Mark and I have more important things to prioritize. So when an invitation to try out the Romantic Escape at Nour Arjaan by Rotana in Fujairah came my way, I'm sure you know what happened next. :)

The romantic bed arrangement in our Premium One-Bedroom Suite

After an almost two-hour ride from Dubai, we finally saw the rock mountains adorning the roads to Fujairah. Located at the heart of the city, amidst Fujairah's exclusive areas, Nour Arjaan by Rotana is one of Rotana's luxurious properties in Fujairah. It is ideally located close to several tourist attractions such as Fujairah City Center and Fujairah open beach.

We were greeted courteously by the staff when we arrived at the hotel. Check-in was a breeze and we were already on our way to our suite in no time.

Nosh Friday Double Brunch at Movenpick Hotel JLT

Brunches seem to be a conventional affair for families in Dubai especially during weekends, Fridays more often. I must admit that I was overwhelmed during my first Friday Brunch experience which made me look forward to having to experience more of it. I have already experienced a couple of Friday Brunches, and each has its own way of making a lasting impression.

Got to experience another Friday brunch with Mark this time at Nosh Restaurant in Movenpick Hotel in Jumeirah Lakes Towers. When I knew that they will be offering Thai Festival for the Friday Brunch, I was more than excited since I haven't quite tried eating Thai dishes before.

The campaign which is a BurJuman initiative was initially launched in 1997 and has received tremendous support over the years making it one of the largest breast cancer awareness campaigns in the Middle East.

History of the Cocktail Dress

In general, the cocktail dress as a dress style is something between the festive and business clothes. Cocktail dress is a shortened gown for the solemn events, without collar and sleeves, which is usually worn in a combination with open shoes. The cocktail dress first appeared in USA in 1920s, at the height of the era of "Prohibition" and Jazz Age, when the female look was dramatically changing and the evening dresses were becoming shorter and plainer. The cocktail dresses were worn for private parties where people were served with alcohol drinks and jazz music was played.

The cocktail dress got its name from the special drink. It is usually served at the cocktail party. "Shady Lady", "Pink Rose" or "Fallen Angel" are the names of those most famous cocktails which contributed to the inspiration of outspoken designers to create the unique outfits. The designers used such tissues as chiffon and silk. Only expensive fabrics were taken. Evening attires were more official than the cocktail dresses. The cocktail dresses, in their turn, were different from the casual clothes by its elegance and sophistication.

Arabian Flavour at the Arabesque Cafe

Mark and I have been to a couple of Friday Brunches already, but we haven't been to Theme Night dinners yet. So when an invitation to try one of the Theme Nights from Arabesque Cafe came our way, we gladly welcomed it with big appetites. :p
