KFC Chewy Cheeze

I was off from work because of an upset stomach, but it didn't stop me from having some enticing treats. After bringing lunch at school for Jaoey, my mom dropped by at KFC and bought the KFC Chewy Cheeze.

Here's KFC's newest offer, the KFC Chewy Cheeze! It comes in a box which is shaped like a slice of Swiss cheese.

For Php50, you can enjoy 8 pieces of bite-size Mozzarella cheese balls.

I first saw its TVC and I immediately craved for it haha..I also got curious if it will really stretch, and well yes it did haha!

You can eat each ball whole but it's a lot more fun if you'll cut it in half and watch the cheese stretch right before your eyes! :P

Just make sure to eat it while it's hot because the cheese won't stretch when it gets cold. Can't wait for another box of Chewy Cheeze! *drools*

Ilocos Empanada

My love for Ilocano food has been influenced by my dad who is a true blue Ilocano from Vigan. Aside from the Vigan Longganisa, Bagnet (the Ilocano version of Lechon Kawali), and Bibingka, one of my favorites is the Ilocos Empanada.

It is very much different from the usual empanadas and there are actually two kinds: one from Vigan and one from Laoag/Batac.

The Vigan Empanada, though smaller and a little pale in color, has a very thin crust making it crispier and giving it a fuller taste; while the Laoag/Batac Empanada, though larger and more vibrant colored, has a thicker crust which makes it more difficult to chew especially when it gets cold and harder.

Both are made from rice flour crust filled with grated green papaya, mongo sprouts, and egg.

Vigan (or Laoag) Longganisa may also be added in if you are non-vegetarian...

And it is definitely made more delectable by Ilocos Empanada's Sukang Iloco in sachets.

Freshly cooked before your eyes, the crispy Ilocos Empanada sure is a treat.

Here are some pictures of us, as we feasted on the Ilocos Empanada. :)

Well except of course for Jaoey, who loves eating sweet corn! Haha! :P

We really love the Ilocos Empanada, though we prefer Vigan's version more. Hmmmm....I just can't wait to get back to Vigan! :D

If you are craving for an Ilocano Empanada, specifically the Laoag/Batac version, go visit Ilocos Empanada along Katipunan Avenue.

Boracay's Simple Pleasures

I really enjoyed my stay in Boracay..too bad it had to end. :P But I guess it's good too, well good for all of you, because you'll get to read new posts (at last!) aside from my Boracay adventures hahahaha!

I had a very fun-filled vacation! It was also very memorable because first, I got to spend it with Mark and my friends--whom I haven't seen for quite some time, second, I got carry out my surprise for Mark's birthday which he loved so much (thanks to all my friends for helping me out! my love goes out to all of you!), and the most important one, it was all of us' first time in Boracay (except for Chrissi and Emman)! Hahaha!

Miggy's Place

After days of fun and adventure in Boracay, we finally bid the island goodbye. Here's our last photo at the Hannah Hotel.

We got into the Kalibo airport at around 11am. While waiting for our boarding time, Mark and I decided to have lunch first at Miggy's Place which is just a few steps away from the airport.

Miggy's Place is known for their special gourmet sandwiches. There were a lot delicious sounding sandwiches from the menu, but since we ate so much during our stay in Boracay, we decided to go healthy this time. :P

Most of the sandwiches in the menu come with 'special chips'. Mark and I both got curious and kept on thinking what made Miggy's 'special chips' special. :P

I ordered the Tuna Melt while Mark ordered the Tuna Clubhouse which both are in wheat bread and come with the 'special chips'.

We immediately got a bite of the chips when our orders arrived. There was a generous serving of not potato but cassava chips. It was very thin and crispy plus it was well seasoned with some of kind of barbecue flavor. Special enough I agree!

Just as how special the chips were, so were the sandwiches. I love the taste of their tuna filling which goes well with the creamy melted cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, and lettuce.

Mark's order was just like mine, except that it was a bigger serving and it didn't have cheese.

We both had Raspberry Iced Tea Shake for our drinks.

Aside from the delectable gourmet sandwiches at Miggy's Place, they also take pride on their antique-filled home-style ambiance.

And so after we finished our food, we still stayed at Miggy's and took some photos while waiting for our flight. :)
